Job description:
As an Senior Embedded Android Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain Android applications for embedded biometric devices. Your role includes optimizing performance, integrating third-party hardware, and ensuring seamless inter-process communication. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in code reviews, and stay updated on Android development for embedded systems.

Requirements:
- 3-5 years of professional Android development experience;
- Strong knowledge of Java and Kotlin programming languages;
- Experience with Android SDK and third-party libraries;
- Proficient in mobile app architecture, UI/UX design principles, and Android best practices;
- Experience with integrating Android applications with third-party hardware components (e.g., Bluetooth, IoT devices);
- In-depth understanding of Android’s Binder and Intent systems for inter-process communication;
- Familiarity with REST APIs to connect Android applications to backend services;
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git;
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
- Fluent in both spoken and written English;
- Ability to work effectively within the Eastern Time (EST) zone.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills;
- Knowledge of Firebase, Google Play services, or cloud-based mobile app architectures;
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks;
- Experience with Go (Golang) is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications for embedded biometric devices;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features;
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications on embedded platforms;
- Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks and maintain app performance;
- Integrate Android apps with third-party hardware platforms and ensure seamless communication between the app and hardware;
- Work with Android's Binder and Intent systems for inter-process communication and data exchange between apps;
- Keep current with the latest trends and technologies in Android development for embedded devices;
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and mentoring junior developers.
